Type of damage. In
EVE ISK there are four types of damage:
termal, explosive, kinetic and electromagnetic radiation (emp). These
types of damage are in the description of each type of charges (rockets,
bullets or lenses). Lenses are placed in the laser and hit only EMP and
(or) thermal damage. Hybrid charges do kinetic and thermal damage.
Rockets - any type, but only one to choose, with equal force.
Projectiles - produce a combination of different types of damage, mostly
explosive.
Respectively, the armor and shield of any vehicle have resistances to
these four types of damages. The Shield is best protected from explosive
damage, but is vulnerable to EMP. And the Armor is well protected
against EMP, but is vulnerable to explosives. There are modules that
increase the resistances of the shield and armor.
Tanking. There are special modules for the repair of armor (repairers),
pumping the shield (Shield boosters) and the capacitor (cap boosters),
as well as for improving the resists (hardeners and plates). In addition
to these, there are modules for transferring armor, shield and
capacitor to another vehicle remotely. Sometimes in PvP, it is useful do
not focus on regeneration, and on the number of HPs, so there are
modules to increase the volume of the capacitor, armor, shield and hull.
Drones. Some believe the idea of drones has been stolen from the game
Parkan. Drones are handled ship-robots that are fighting automatically
around your vehicle. Drones are stored in a place called Drone bay, and
you cannot launch more than the bay can contain. Besides, the number of
drones that can be launched depends on the skill Drones, +1 Drone per
skill level. You can be run five drones at most. Carriers (
buy eve ships) can launch more drones.
Electronics. Devices, somehow affecting the conduct of combat, without
causing damage, are included into the Electronics category. This is very
similar to the mechanism of buffs/debuffs in fantasy games. There are
Electronics devices to improve the accuracy of guns, targeting range,
the resistance to REW (radio electronic warfare). And there are also
electronic devices that have an opposite effect on the enemy, reducing
his accuracy, targeting range, dropping the lock on a target and not
allowing to warp.
